Mothers is an editorial project exploring identity, migration, language, and belonging through personal and inherited histories. Inspired by my mother’s experience moving between Jakarta, Japan, and New York, the book reflects on the tension of growing up between cultures, languages, and expectations. Through essays, film references, music, and archival fragments, the project traces the emotional complexities of translation, memory, and diasporic identity, suggesting that home is not a fixed place, but something carried through relationships, stories, and continual becoming.
